We are selective about the candidates we register. We want to work with subject matter experts with a track record of strategic and operational delivery. We are also interested in hearing from excellent candidates with complementary skills who might help us form a team to deliver a work package (eg project management, change management, etc.). Working through Kaleidoscope comes with additional benefits. For people we place, we offer ongoing support, discounted rates on training, and access to a community of experienced consultants.
We work for both clients and candidates, and make a commitment to you that we will treat you as an individual with personal career aspirations. During our detailed registration, we will discuss your expectations and try and meet these with the assignment options we present to you.
We will not put you forward for a role without your consent, so do ask that you return our calls promptly. We will make sure you go to any interview with all the information we have on the role, including any health and safety information we have gathered from the client. You will have approved any version of your CV we present (we do not change the content without discussion – but will remove personal information and present it in Kaleidoscope’s template).
Working through a Limited Company
If a client is content with the arrangement, we are happy to work with you through a legitimate limited company. We will carry out some checks on your company including checking Companies House and asking you to supply copies of insurance documents. We can only pay you by way of a business account and will not pay invoices into a personal bank account. You are entirely responsible for the payment of your own tax and NI and may be asked for evidence that this has been done. You will only be paid for days and part days worked.
Kaleidoscope can engage you as a PAYE worker with a contract valid only for a specific engagement. You will be paid a salary, pro-rata for your work, and will have paid holiday based on the UK statutory minimum of 28 days (including bank holidays). Kaleidoscope will deduct your tax and NI at source and issue you with a P45 at the end of your assignment. You will not be a full employee of Kaleidoscope through the PAYE worker arrangements, but you will benefit from any statutory entitlements.
Our process will be thorough and robust, but there are times when things might happen in a different order or in a different way to suit the time available or the needs of a specific client. We would ideally do most checks on registration, but where this is not possible, documents might become out of date, or clients want something different we may need to come back to you for more information.
If you want to register with Kaleidoscope then please send your CV to us at firstname.lastname@example.org or respond to the open advert under Jobs. An experienced consultant will consider if you will be a good fit with the work we do, and if we feel we can potentially find you work we will:
- Send you a basic registration form.
- Organise to meet with you to discuss your professional background. At the same meeting, or separately if more convenient, we will take you through a more detailed set of registration forms and verify documents needed for security checks. If we cannot do this face to face we will use Skype for Business (or similar) and may take stills of you with your documents (eg passport).
- If we ask for a credit check (as some clients request) this is most likely to be an Experian rating of green.
When we have a suitable opportunity for you, a consultant will call you to discuss the details of the assignment and if we do not know you we will find a time to take you through a more technical interview to test your information governance (IG) skills and knowledge. If agreed with a client we may ask you to carry out a specialist test which looks at your ability to apply your IG knowledge in an organisational setting (or something similar).
